WalMart 3 Wick vs BBW 3 Wick Candles

I saw these 3 wick candles at Walmart the other wk and had to give them a try.  I wanted to compare them to the 3 wicks from Bath and Body Works.  Check out the video for a review.  Thanks.

REVIEW! Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Overnight Peel

Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Overnight Peel

I started looking for a product to fade the dark spots that I have on my face.  One in particular on my right cheek has been bothering me for a while and another small spot below my right eye was starting to surface.  Since we just came out of summer, I think being outdoors in the sun without full on SPF had a big part in creating the problem.  The other way, I think was due to stress.  Stress has a way of wreaking havoc         on the complexion.

So I picked up the Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Overnight Peel because it guaranteed results in 4 weeks.  I used it consistently for 4 weeks.  I stayed out of the sun, wore heavy SPF if I did go outside, washed and exfoliated my skin really well before applying it each night.
I applied it all over my face and neck.  It has a clear gel consistency and it takes about a minute to dry.  Once it dried, I went on to apply my normal evening moisturizer.  After a few weeks, I noticed the large dark patch on my cheek (I've had for about a year) started to feel “scaly”, so I took the only heavy scrub I had which was a body scrub with honey and sugar and scrubbed away on that patch.  Afterwards it felt really smooth and the patch seemed to lighten a little.

After Pictures (4wks)

I notice however that after 4 weeks of use, there’s only a slight improvement to the dark patch on my cheek.  The spot under my eye remains to be about the same.  I am going to continue to use it though.  After about 4 wks I’ve only gone through about half the bottle. The “scaly” feeling on my cheek's dark patch comes back every few days, so I use the sugar scrub (Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrub)to smooth it off.  I normally would never use a scrub this abrasive for my face, but it seems to be helping.
Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrub

Im going to continue with this routine: deep exfoliation along with the peel until I’ve used up the whole bottle, then do a final review.  I'll do a final comparison of the before and after pictures.

I will say, even if it doesn’t remove my dark patches completely, it brightened my complexion and has given it a more even, and “polished” look to it in this amount of time that I've used it.  I don't know if these results will be long term, so if I want to continue using it for that purpose only, I think it’d be worth the $12-$13.  Even my Cellex-C Vitamin C Serum that I’ve used for years doesn’t do that.

ELF Haul - My Longest Blog Ever - Im Tired After This

So I finaaalllly got my online ELF order in the mail.  You know how it is when
you order something online and keep checking your mailbox every day
with anticipation.  Well I was excited to finally get it because I’ve never done a
big purchase from them.  And big to me is anything more than a few things.
I filmed a haul video, but also wanted to blog about the experience.
Let's just say it didn't all go as smoothly as hoped... So lets get started shall we?
Bad impression #1
It took so long to receive my order.  I don't know if that was due to the postal service or elf’s shipping.  It came from NJ.  I ordered 10/22, and received 11/5 (14 days).  That may not seem like a long time, but I've ordered from other retailers from NY and received my items in as little as 3 days just using priority mall.  Everything showed IN STOCK online, so it couldn't have been due to a backorder.  But oh well, my panties aren't in a twist anymore, no biggie, but it doesn't stop there.
Bad impression #2:
There was a dead smashed bug inside the packaging of the blush brush that I ordered! :(( I was not happy.  It had me looking around to see if there were anymore dead bugs anywhere. Picture below.

Bad impression #3:
I didn't receive my Candid Coral blush I ordered.  The packing slip showed "shipped", but it was not in my package :(  So frustrating.  I've emailed them, so if they send me out another one I'll probably have to wait another couple weeks----not too pleased.
Im normally not a complainer, but I share my experiences with
you guys good or bad.  That's my motto "keepin' it real", right :)

So here's what I ordered

So overall, I am excited to try all of my new products because I
have little to no experience using ELF, and I will definitely let you
guys know what I think either on this blog or on my channel.

I did email the company just now about the last 2 issues, so it all
depends on their response if I use their website again for ordering.

Thanks for joining me!  Bye for now XO, alex

hugs and lipstick...

//UPDATE//
So I did email elf right away about the missing blush and bug in the brush packaging.  They emailed me back that same day or the next day and sent out a new brush and my missing blush.  I checked the tracking they gave me and of course it’s sent regular mail with an expected delivery date 8 days away.  So that makes a final total of 23 days from order to receiving my package in full.  Long story short- I am doubtful I’ll be using their website to buy their product again.

Disclaimer:  this blog has nothing to do with how I feel about their products.  I have yet to try out any of the items I bought.  This was primarily about what I purchased and my shopping experience with them.

Just a little snippet: bedroom set-up contemplation

I have been trying to re-arrange my bedroom.  I get restless with things too easily.  Every time I change it, it never seems to feel right.  I think it mainly has to do with how my room is set up i.e. placement of windows, doors, closet.  It doesn't make it easy to place furniture and leaves me with limited possibilities.  I have been contemplating and brainstorming how I can place everything in my room the past few days and it is driving me crazy.

Im think I have figured one out.  It seems a little awkard, but I guess that's what Im stuck with no matter what I do.  On every wall there is either a door or a window...errr.  Oh well, we'll see how it goes.  I also have this "belief" (if you can call it that) in feng shui, so I think how you place your furniture can have an impact on the energy in the room and can affect your aura/mood when you're in that space.  I think if everything is where it needs to be, it has a calming effect and vice versa.

Once I have everything set up, I can start using my room more.  Lately it's just been a  place to plop things.  Also,  I don't make very many youtube videos, I find it hard when I don't have a comfortable set up.  I hope to make more videos once I have my room set up... then I have to move onto the closet.  That's like a horror movie right now.  My closet is an even worse nightmare, but I will put that last.

That's all for now.  Thanks for reading.

Peace & hair grease.

Late for Work: Hair & Make-Up

Here are some shortcuts that I use in the morning if I've overslept.  This isn't my normal everyday routine, just for those mornings where I only have 10-15 min to get ready.  If I have less than that, then it would have to be a bun/makeup in the car day- not ideal, because I hate having to rush.
I get dressed very last, spray on perfume, throw on my shoes then grab my purse/keys and that's it!

Dark Lips For Fall! Wet N Wild Sugar Plum Fairy

I really wanted to play with makeup and take advantage of the Wet n Wild lipstick shade I've had in my drawer collecting dust, Sugar Plum Fairy.  It is a pretty fuschia color that is perfect for Fall.

You can really play this lipstick up with a totally dramatic makeup look, or keep everything neutral and let the lips make the statement.  It just depends on whatever mood you're in :")  There are no rules.
First, I created a more "daytime" look:

And then a more dramatic "nighttime" look:

Delicate & Dainty Stackable Rings

I have been loving the look of little delicate stackable rings.  This is nothing new of course.  I've just been noticing it more and have been having ring envy.  Something about wearing something so little and dainty makes me feel all girly and feminine #weirdo.

So I came across these when browsing online (click on the picture to go to the source).

Sadly, I cannot pay over a $100 for these little rings...

Looks like I will have to settle for these:

Not quite the same, but you get the same vibe,
and at only $2.80 it'll have to do.

What do you think of this trend?  Love it?  Hate it?  If you love it, where are some good places that you have found yours?  I would love to know :)
